    In addition to the items you mentioned I use a "Portland combined
    protractor and parallel rule" made by Blundell & Harling UK.  It is a
    360 deg square protractor about 10 inches on the side with big numbers
    for those over 40...sounds like the Linex nautical grid protractor
    mentioned by Mike.  Very useful.  Got mine from Celestaire.
