The linked images show the back of an index card set up as a plotting sheet for 28* N Latitude. Scaling has 1/8" = 1 nautical mile. The Helix compass rose can be placed over the assumed position along the 28th parallel or over the GPS position. The example shows a morning sun line plotted from the GPS position and an afternoon sun line plotted from an assumed position along 28* of latitude. The Helix compass rose seems to be a convenient plotting tool for small work areas and does very well at the coffee table. If the GPS position is Google Earthed then you will find yourself on the golf course (Pete Dye and Joe Lee design). My foursome mates weren't happy with my using a non conforming range finder ;-)
