WOW! Dan, My wife & I decided to go sailing & cruising around the world 10 years ago. I joined the list to learn navigation; some of it may have settled in my gray matter. I'd love to meet somewhere but we're leaving end of August. I'll have to but I hope to come back some day with a more practical perspective of navigation and the art of determining one's position on a sphere. Then, my stats will hopefully improve. My lat/lon will be changing on a daily basis. If I could be there I would; its a capital idea. I would recommend the group could navigate to a location with an unencumbered, non-terrestrial horizon. Does Salem have a clear view of the Atlantic? Or will an artificial horizon be provided? What time does it start, Local or Zulu time? Thanks to all for the lessons. Patrick, KC7AIR s/v Seahorse
