Price difference between the two, about $900, is certainly a factor. as are the described limitations re which sextants the professional will work on
I have tried the practice bubble horizon without successa, possibly my fault, the thing seems "tricky" to use and I have yet to get an understandable explaination of the bubble correction factor, as with how to determine it, possibly a function of my thick head at work or play.
In any case, the PBH being unilluminated, is useable in daylight only. Of course, whether or not the Professionasl BH is worth the price difference would be influenced by the size of one's purse, or one's sense of the ridiculous, as it were. That aspect gets personal though. Nothing more that I can say here.
