    Everyone,

I am not an expert in this sort of thing so I am looking forward to this problem and trying to figure it all out. So no spoilers please.

The following is stated in the problem:
    "N27deg 21' W123deg 46' (Japan Sea)"

I read this as the DR position however the parenthetical statement "Japan Sea" led me to believe that this position was somewhere in the Japan Sea.  I Google Earthed the position and it is actually in the Pacific off the coast of Baja Mexico.  Am I simply reading the statement wrong and the destination is the Japan Sea?  Please clairfy.

    The novice navigator
    Andrew
