Territory of Russia is divided in 11 time zones (from 2 to 12). Borders of time zones pass on borders of subjects of the Russian Federation, all subjects enter into one time zone. There are only few regions of Russia which includes more than one time zone: Yakutia is 3 time zones (MSK+6, MSK+7, MSK+8), Sahalin Region (MSK+7) and MSK+8 at Kurili Island Time zones from time to time change. During 1990 - 2000th years there was a shift of time zones on the West so, for example, the majority of regions of Western Siberia (except for the Kemerovo area) has passed from time zone MSK 4 in time zone MSK 3. In many regions time differs from zone time at one o'clock as in territory of Russia decretal time operates. Decretal time was establish by Uncle Joe. It is one hour ahead. Russian Duma discussing the advantages or more correctly no advantages at all of the change to the Summer or Winter Time. They want to get rid of it. Someone counted hat to change all his clock and watches from one time to another will take about 20 minutes. It is considered a huge waste of time of you tthink about this small process on the whole country scale. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ NavList message boards: www.fer3.com/arc Or post by email to: NavList@fer3.com To , email NavList+@fer3.com -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
