The simplest way to reduce the file size is to reduce the resolution. Most computer monitors display at 72 ppi (pixels per inch) so greater resolution than this is wasted data - if looking at the image on a computer monitor is the end use.

 

However, if the image is being shared so it can, for example, be printed out, then 72 ppi is generally inadequate. Tables with small text could end up illegible. Somewhere in the 200 to 300 ppi range is better for that.
