Thanks, Bill. I did get the sighting vanes, and just today figured out about sliding the telescope a bit away from the frame - it did seem to make seeing both images in the centre easier. The remaining collar adjustment, up and down when sighting, seems unimportant -- mine seems about 2mm high on the horizon mirror.
