Frank,
I went to Hammonassett with four students from my upcoming class yesterday, with the intention of getting a sun line, a moon line, a sun-moon fix, and a noon sight. Most of them were successful, but Nature, being the Mother that she is, cause it to take an hour and a half longer than planned. It took quite a while before the moon rose above the clouds in the east, and even after that an occasional cloud obscured it long enough to screw up our 20 minute requirement a couple of times. And one of them blew the noon sight. But they all agreed that it was better than mowing the lawn. I got a bit of sunburn, but the class bought me lunch, so I'd say it was a good day.

A quick reminder: TOMORROW, Sunday, June 24, from 4pm-6pm is the next scheduled sextant and sight-taking session that I am running near the Beavertail Lighthouse here on Conanicut Island in Rhode Island. I will post a longer message later this afternoon, and I will be sending some direct emails, too. All are welcome, and it's a wonderful place to visit, so bring family and friends. :)
