All these scopes seem to come from only one manufacturer : Changzhou Celestaire Co. in China. Am I wrong ? What do you think about the quality of these scopes ? Do you know other manufacturers for sextant scopes today ?" Celestaire owner Ken Gebhart, at the Navigation Weekend at Mystic Seaport last month, was showing off the new model of the 7x35 sextant scope that Celestaire's Chinese partners are just starting to manufacture. I had a look through it and examined it up close, and it looks excellent. Ken explained that they went to great lengths to get the mount exactly perpendicular to the optic axis so that collimation is near perfect. Many other scopes in this range have significant collimation problems. -FER --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ Navigation List archive: www.fer3.com/arc To post, email NavList@fer3.com To , email NavList-@fer3.com -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
