    Sky Map Screensaver
    From: Sean C
    Date: 2016 Sep 6, 18:34 -0700

I stumbled across this screensaver today. (Screenshot below.) It's fairly customizable from location (down to seconds of arc) to the magnitude of stars you want to be labeled. It also shows UTC along with zone time and other useful info. Judging from the readme, it's about 10 years old so I'm not sure how accurate it is concerning delta-T, but upon cursory inspection it seems to agree with MICA. At any rate, it's good enough for getting an idea of what's overhead at the current time. The page also includes the source code, so if any of our resident programmers want to have a look at it, maybe you can tell us what's "under the hood". I disabled the constellation names and boundaries to reduce clutter and it looks pretty good on the 40" T.V. I use with my laptop.

Instructions for installation/customization are in the readme. (The correct directory [for Windows 10, anyway] is C:\Windows\System32.)

    Cheers,

    Sean C.
