    While searching the web for pictures of John Philip Sousa and his famous
    band, I stumbled upon a neat website that may interest those who like to
    talk
    about occulations, oppositions, conjunctions, eclipses and sundry
    astronomical phenomena.

    How can  JP Sousa possibly be associated with a Transit of Venus?   He must
    have be intrigued enough with the 1882 transit to compose the 'Venus Transit
    March' when asked by the Smithsonian to perform at a ceremony that dedicated
    a statue of Joseph Henry, inventer of the electric motor.
