Log Sumner Here's two Sumner lines using logs. (Those given by Andres Ruiz.) A few minutes with the Noire tables was all that was needed. Each line takes two calcs, about the same as an altitude and an azimuth. This case was for the body E-W, so a Latitude was assumed, and a Longitude calculated. For bodies N-S, a Longitude should be assumed, and a Latitude calculated. (Calculate using logs. Left as an exercise for the reader.) ************************** TWO Circles of Position 19/02/2004 20:00:00 Fix UT1 date body GHA Dec Ho 19/02/2004 20:00:00 Procyon 334.23 5.22 28.5 19/02/2004 20:00:00 Sirius 347.78 -16.72 19.55 DR at tFix: 42N 30.5W -- NavList message boards: www.fer3.com/arc Or post by email to: NavList@fer3.com To , email NavList+@fer3.com
