    Just curious what the "AW" that I see in the subject line of so many of the NavLIst e-mails means.

    And that must be the page that George is looking for (which David referred to). The entry shows that it was an observation of a sun moon distance and notes "back Obs." You can find that note on the other large angle observations, too.
