Byron:/I am having trouble understanding some of the information
on this sunrise / sunset.idea!By every standing sunrise/set is
when the instant the upper limb of the sun appears on the horizon
for sun rise and when the upper limb dissapears below the visible
horizon, same for the moon. I am also considering to do, sight forms
and navigation problems that the Coast Guard at Newlondon can teach.
I don't know their cut off date? I am considering making the lession
any way. I also wonder if the Coast Guard would be interested in
teaching some of my Franklin piloting technique,in Bowditch. The Franklin Continuious Radar.or the Special Radar, presently in Radar Manual, HO 1310.
I taught all the above at Naval Schools. Also they were and probably are
taught at Annapolis MD. and other Navy schools still. I know that many of the past teaching were changed to new equipment. I would like to talk to the
coast Guard person. I was head Navigation instructor at OCS in the 1960ty.
and spent much of my life at sea.
