There is no new anyting on this earth, agreed. The point that need to be said is rocking the sextant is the morm, the rocking of the sextant bodie in and out of the water to make a real contrast and clearly see the body in the day time or a dim body in a still well lit horrizon is the main point. I try to get the dim body when it first comes out, the horrizon is still sharp, to get the best fix. I still beleve that the in and out of the water will give a vertical sextant better than running the horrizon on a high body. can some one check this out. Byron
