Hi BH, regarding sextant I have a Simex Mariner which for all practical purposes is equivalent to MS 733 and is a fine, precise unit. HTH. Also regarding your A-10 site reduction solution I obtained a fix of 49d 27.3N,122d 53W via HO 249 and direct trig solution. I also have MK 5 and I believe have the manual so if I can be of some help there and other questions on the unit do not hesitate to ask. You will find the sun shades offer better polarization, bubble mechanism is more precise, and I feel instrument is an upgrade from the A-10 but A-10 is lighter and is still ok.
