A quick, but I hope correct, calculation for the next 14 high tides with the moon above the horizon at New London, CT, shows the average azimuth of the moon is 135.4 deg with standard deviation of 3.5 deg (using 6 minute steps). The average LHA is 315.4 with SD=4.6. As a check, for Frank's low tide (15 in this case), average az=232.4, w/ SD=7.4. Average LHA, as he says, is 52.9 w/ SD of 1.9.
