Doug, perhaps you can tell me what rates of errors you have seen logged for the chronometers you use? I am curious in that you distrust watches, yet official chronometer certification only means a clock is within 2 minutes per month, while even a $20 non-adjustable Timex is routinely within 15 seconds a month through the lifetime of the battery. Better wristwatches are often rated within 5 seconds per month as shopped, and of course adjustable to that standard. Even my 30+ year old Accutron can keep time within 15-20 seconds per month, and do so at a reliable rate. (i.e., I know within 5 seconds per month how fast it is, even if it hasn't been set in a full month.)
