66°N, uhm, from end of January to beginning of December you can do low sun shots near mid day, good for latitude.
Also you have stars and planets, another celestial available is the moon.
Personally I have found that hardest part is catching horizon, there are several reasons for this, below I throw out a few.
Near solstice it is fully dark for most of the 24 hours available, this means horizon is not visible for more than few hours/day at best.
NO horizon illuminated by sun at all -if far enough north- near solstice, at times it can be caught well enough without sun but...
Frequently one gets into trouble due to temperature differences, imagine sea being liquid water, that is above 0°C, and air being -20°C, this means that refraction near horizontal becomes "interesting".
Horizon gets hard if air is still, and conditions are as above, reason being that horizon then becomes a band of fog covering 360°.
