I have had success replacing shades on a Davis MK 15 and a Tamaya Jupiter using Thousand Oaks Optical mylar solar film. The old filter is removed and the solar film then can be cut and glued to the exterior of the remaining frame. A nice sharp round orange Sun results. When I get back to California in a few weeks I can send you some solar film cut to fit the Ebbco index and horizon shade frames. Contact me off list with mailing address.
