On the occasion of introducing Lacaille's solar tables into the CT in 1760, Lalande remarked that the neglect of perturbations could hitherto have introduced errors up to 40" in the longitude of the sun. Was he wrong?

I did compute the equation of time myself instead of getting it from CT (and even in the very first years, in the late 17 th Century, the difference between both results of Equation of Time - i.e. CT and my results - is well below one second of time).
