It's been interesting to follow Bill's progress, in discovering for himself (with this list's help) how celestial navigation actually works: the nuts and bolts of it. It hasn't been a particularly quick process, because he seems to have avoided absorbing standard material from textbooks, but instead, thinking things out for himself until he has understood what's going on. And asking pertinent questions. In my view, that's the best way to learn anything. I hope that hasn't sounded patronising. It certainly isn't meant that way.
