    V correction and the sun
    From: Bob Goethe
    Date: 2020 Dec 15, 15:14 -0800

I have used the v correction from the Nautical Almanac for years.  But today, with the quiet time afforded by my Covid isolation, I started thinking about it.

It seems like with the earth having an elliptical orbit, the sun should appear to move across the sky, from east to west, more quickly at certain times of the year than at other times.

Why is there no v correction for the sun?

    Thanks,

    Bob
