    I had a quick look at Marx, "Shipwrecks in the Americas", and there is not a
    single wreck connected with the Virgin Rocks. But that is no surprise as it
    is most likely that such wreck would be described as "lost off Newfoundland"
    or "lost on the Grand Banks". And - if all hands were lost - it might also
    be misplaced as "lost on Sable Island" because this was known as a ship
    graveyard.
    
    Only when ships in distress generally were able to transmit their position
    (since about the Twenties of last century?) one could say that they hit
    Virgin Rocks. Lloyds of London should have information of this sort.
