Dan, I have an HP48SX. I bought that about a year before they announced the HP48GX. I have attempted to develop my own programs for SR with the HP. Then I realized that I was spending more time learning about programming the HP then about navigation. Like I said before, I like HP calculators. So I would feel real bad if I trashed an HP. Some how, I don't get the same feeling if I trashed a Casio. Since the Casio fx-300 is not programmable, I develop cheat sheets for formulas I need. I have one for SR to altitude/intercept, and sailings. I put it on a 3x5 card and laminate it. If all else fails, I can fall back on the basics.
