Dear Ken, and other list members, I want it to be known that I am not a "Russian" in any sense: except that I am fluent in Russian language. I was born in Ukraine, and lived in Ukraine until I moved to the US at the age of 36. I have not spent in Russia more than 1 month altogether in my life (much less than in Germany, England or Turkey). I know that for most Westerners Soviet Union = Russia, and that most did not notice that SU dissolved into many states 23 years ago, and I did not care about this lack of knowldege much until 2014.
