Mike: I hope to download it and give it a test drive this weekend. I have evaluated about a dozen and a half programs of this kind (including one of my own) and beta tested several. Sounds crazy, but I actually enjoy doing it. I get the impression from the distribution notes that the program does not contain a built-in almanac. Does the user have to extract data from the Nautical Almanac, or am I simply wrong. I guess I'll find out when I download it. It probably will come as no surprise to you, but the name "Sights" was used by David O. Jones for a DOS program without a built-in almanac. Pretty tough to come up with an original descriptive name.
