Frank has shot this image down as a fake with a full salvo. My assumption that it could be a sundog is not valid either since sundogs form to the right and left of a body. The reflection is a bit odd as well.

Joel,
That may be a sundog below the Moon which would put the Sun another 20 degrees or so below the horizon.

This photograph was posted to a facebook site, and claims to be a photo of the sun and the moon, taken from the North Pole. Is this possible ? I don't see how the sun and moon could appear to be so extremely different in size. Is this a Photoshop manipulation of reality for 'artistic' effect ?
