Thanks for helpful comments from list members about my attempts to send
off-list emails to Robin Stuart.

I can confirm that my emails were sent from a standard ISP account, not via
webmail, and the attachment was no more than fifty-odd kilobytes of .pdf .
And even a message with no attachment failed.

I'll wait for suggestions from Robin before taking the next step. It seems
that the only way I can communicate with him is via this list, at the
moment. Or, of course, if he calls me by phone
