> Southern California is clear with a perfect view. What a sight ! A lot of cloud cover near the north coast of Indiana, ranging from high sheet about 24:00 UT giving way to 7/8 then 3/8 cumulus cover, so have been able to follow it from ingress about every 15 minutes. Thrilling, and bigger than I had anticipated. About to lose it to sunset. If a line from Carly Simon's You're So Vain" (I flew my Lear jet to Nova Scotia for the total eclipse of the sun) was fair game, so is "There's a little black dot on the sun today," from Sting/the Police "King of Pain." Many years ago George H. chastised me for mentioning "Sea Monkeys" on the list, as non-USA or non-English speaking list members might not understand the reference. So I apologize to members who do not follow that genre of music, and especially to the spirit of George. Bill B
