If anyone is in doubt as to the origin of the Soviet SNO-M sextant, this interesting picture of a C Plath sextant in use should dispel it. Plath satellite factories in Zoppot, north of Danzig and Guttstadt in the centre of East Prussia, were abandoned to the Soviet advance in the closing stages of WWII. The SNO-M differs in only very minor respects from the Plath instrument shown. The pressure die-cast alloy frame appears to have been made in the same dies.
