    Frank:

At present, being back in Pittsburgh, no horizon to speak of hereabouts, along with lots of light spill from downtown office buildings, star shots become a tough proposition. One can do sun and sometimes moon shots down by the river, (The Mon as it is known around here), or use an artificial horizon in the apartment complex parking lot, for sextant practice, which I sometimes do.

Re the Stellarium that you mentioned, I have this on my desk top, don't have a portable/laptop computer, and frankly I have not delved deeply into the program. As for the failings or short comings of the 2102-D, you likely know more about that than I do, however I am able to derive useable information, I think, from it, and it is emminently portable, and as has been noted, will work wet or dry.

I will try to scan some of the sight reductions and accompanying plots I did at the beach, and if that works, I will post them at the discussion. Of course, these will be the ones that worked, which is to say provided "reasonable solutions".

    Thanks for your input/time.

    Alan
