The book "Maps of the Ancient Sea Kings" by Charles H. Hapgood may be of use to you for this sort of investigation. The book appeared first 1966 and was then reprinted in 1996 (ISBN 0-932813-42-9). The author can be and has been criticised for some of his thoughts and his conclusions. However, the way how he investigated the different coordinate-systems and how they (possibly) have been projected in old maps may be really be of interest to you. I hope you will be able to find a copy of it. Marcel
