Hmm, interesting. I had not realised that Yeoman required the three points to make a right angle on lat/lon. The only demonstration of one that I have seen (at a boatshow), glossed over that. Other mapping software that I am familiar with, such as OziExplorer, will georeference a linear graduated map on any three points, with accuracy of calibration improved if the three points are chosen somewhat as described below as necessary for the Yeoman.
