    Surely they don't change the clocks at all, but run in GMT
    time, don't they?  I suppose clocks that that run in local time
    are set at the owner (of the clock)'s discretion, but the
    navigators won't touch theirs.
    
    My father was in the coast guard.  The ship's main chronometer
    was *never* touched except to wind it.  Only when they were in
    port was the chronometer re-synched to standard time.
