My visits towards the Pole, one in summer and one in winter, were at Kiruna, Sweden, which is a little bit further North than Fairbanks (3 deg). In summer you can read the news paper at midnight while fighting the mosquitoes and in winter you have plenty of time to watch the auroras while its freezing cold ... Marcel
