Thanks to all who have contributed on this topic, under so many Subjects. Slope, and more recently the treatment of apparent outliers, has now had another good trashing here and perhaps we have all learned something. I certainly have. Feel free to carry on if you like amongst yourselves, but now I'm off to sea for a while.
