I do find it interesting the people that approach me when out using the sextant are generally either curious kids, or undergrad/graduate students. First I give them the Ken Gebhart answer, "It's used for measuring angles of celestial bodies." Most will ask a follow up question, and continue through the body over a globe, assumed position, and towards or away intercepts. All without their eyes glazing over Possibly the only time an AARP member with am "outdated" navigation tool is "cool." :-) > > So are we done with the whinging and moaning?? Anyone care to talk about > navigation? :-) For me occasional whining and moaning a positive thing. At 57 I have managed to stay single for 48 of those years (despite four engagements). A wee dose of it helps remind me why.Bill
