Peter Fogg wrote, about this list- "it is a stage for querulous old men to strut their egos while exposing their erudition" Well, it doesn't need much textual analysis to deduce that it's me he is attacking: and not for the first time. On a previous occasion, I was a "crabby old man", as I recall. Not that such verbal abuse bothers me. A copy gets pinned to the wall, and it becomes something of a joke around the family. It shows that the writer has run out of valid argument. Something of a trophy, really. But I ask Peter to be man enough, next time, to have the guts to actually name his target as he puts the knife in, so there can be no doubt whatsoever about who it's intended to be.
