Can't prove it, but I suspect that the answer would be YES!!!
Additionally, I also suspect that the quality of the mirror in your AH is also a factor.
Also, while the Davis Sextant is certainly useable, metal frame sextants are a lot more expensive, the Davis isn't the most reliable of instruments.
