GPS Anti Spoof based on radio sextant ?
    From: Igor S.
    Date: 2020 Jan 27, 08:43 -0800
While reading articles about radio sextants I came up with the following idea which is essentially the same as already described in the post regarding anti spoof app:
    https://NavList.net/m2.aspx/GPS-Anti-Spoof-app-FrankReed-dec-2017-g40785
Instead of using a sextant one can make use of radio sextant (at present an obsolete piece of navigational equipment in both US and Russian navies: https://NavList.net/m2.aspx/All-Weather-Sextant-Radiosextant-IgorS.-aug-2019-g45698 ). Whenever the sun (or moon) is above the horizon it can be tracked continuously and accurately (regardless the weather conditions). If both sun and moon are above the horizon - a direct celestial fix is possible.
The measured height is juxtaposed to the pre-calculated one from GPS in question, resulting in a fully autonomous quality control process (data quality control - is my research project in another field at this moment).
This possible application would lead perhaps to a return of radio sextant as a standard ship navigational equipment ... does it make sense?
I attached a short article from Electronics World Magazine 5, p.104 (1959) about radio sextant.
    kind regards,
    Igor
