Today there are some models for the Magnetic Variation, for example de WMM: World Magnetic Model, current valid from 2010 to 2015.
The input parameters are:
- Latitude
- Longitude
- Altitude Sea level (referenced to the WGS 84 ellipsoid)
- Date, in decimal year
