Dear Dan, Re your sextant list: C. Plath- you can move them to the out of business list as of about 1 year ago. There are still a few Navistar Traditionals and at least one Classic in the pipeline, but they will be gone soon. Cassens & Plath- They claim another model called CP Sailing, but it is the same as the Astra IIIB . Just privately branded. Freiberger- Located in the town of Freiberg (East) There is another Freiberg (west). Their sextant is also known as the Zeiss sextant. Changzhou Celestaire Instrument Co- located in the town of Changzhou, 75 miles NW of Shanghai. Francis Barker- Still in business, but no longer making sextants. Located in Edenbridge, Kent. EBBCO- This was still being made at least up until 4 years ago, and I suspect it still is. You see them a lot in Europe. As a matter of interest, I have personally visited each of the above factories to observe their operations. Ken Gebhart, Celestaire, Inc.
