glapook has recently been kind enough to add to the list attachments of several aircraft sextant manuals, including that for the British Mark IXA sextant. Less easy to find is that for the Mark IX, its predecessor, which has a six-shot averager. Its operation is not obvious, so I am attaching a reformatted manual for this instrument, extracted from my restoration manual on the Mark IX series.
