So I did not stumble upon a high-quality Tamaya with fewer accessories under a lesser name for a bargain price, but probably something similar-looking (perhaps made under contract to Tamaya) but with lower-quality componants. (But it LOOKS just like the Tamaya! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3727765599) Rats. With so many eyes on Ebay, I guess it would be a surprise if a nice sextant went practically unnoticed by everyone but me. Thanks for the info, and the bit of sextant history, Joel. Renee
