Where were you standing when you measured the altitudes? (on top of a building? on a beach? street address? (if possible) etc.) What did the horizon under the moon look like? (distant sea surface, water across the harbor under far shore, sharp, hazy etc.) do you know roughly what direction you were looking? what was local time? what type/model of sextant? have you used it much before?
