George, I understand that there is a facility available whereby large files can be made available via a link, and this seems a sensible arrangement.
3.1Mb is a bit big to inflict uninvited on everyone, many of whom may have little interest in the topic or the attachments.

Earlier today I sent a posting to Navlist which had two attachments,
totalling 3.1 megabytes. In the subject line was- "[Navlist] Re: Help with
Lunar distance."
As it failed to appear, I sent another copy a few hours later, with the
same result.
I am aware that these attachments are large for our list, but have they
breached some acceptance limit? If so, I would like to know, explicitly,
what that limit is.
If a posting is rejected for any reason by this list, is any message
returned to the sender to say so?
George.
