I think the particular model of the calculator is irrelevant if it has a convenient sexagesimal convertion. The advantage of the formulas is that you do not have to write any intermediate results. My Casio can store only one number in the memory. With the usual formulas, I have to write 2 intermediate results on paper. But if your calculator can store 3 numbers, there is no need in the Russian formula, and you can use the usual one.
