Thaks to Bjorn Waldenstrom for an interesting response to my earlier question about Virgin Rocks. If Norrbotten was where she said she was, that was indeed perilously close to those unmarked rocks. Presumably, she was then heading SW. As Bjorn says, at 15,000 tons, Norrbotten was indeed huge for that date; 1915, and well equipped, with all those bulk-cargo grabs. The photo shows her in ballast. Loaded with iron ore, if she had struck those rocks, she would have gone down like a stone. No wonder nothing was heard.
